It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Dartmouth is the place to be during the festive season

As we move ever closer to Christmas, Candlelit Dartmouth makes for a very festive weekend, so remember to mark the 27th and 28th November on your calendars as this is an event not to be missed.

It all starts pre-event with the Lantern-making workshops; if you want a lantern procession, someone’s got to make them!

This festive season there's a bit of a change for the lantern-making workshops. Instead of focusing efforts on workshops in the local primary schools, this year’s offering includes a number of community-based workshops so that children of all ages, families and friends who want to join the Candlelit Dartmouth procession will all have the opportunity to make and carry their own lantern.

Dates and times of most workshops have already been announced - although some extras may still be added. Check out the "lantern workshops" page for full details

Activities in the Flavel on Saturday 28th November are exclusively for the kids - with even more to keep them occupied than in previous years - Christmas craft workshops, Santa's grotto, a brand new activity in the top-floor studio and other fun stuff. Full details can be found on the "Flavel events" page on the website.

Once again, this year local traders are encouraged to take a pitch in the Christmas market by offering attractive discounted rates to traders with a TQ6 postcode.

From past experience it’s pretty much guaranteed that Candlelit Dartmouth will bring more people into town than on a regular winter weekend.

Park and Ride - this service will be operational and FREE on Saturday 28th November from 10am right through until 8pm - so you can enjoy the last hour of the event in Royal Avenue Gardens without fear of missing the last bus!

Enjoy your Christmas shopping....
